News and Upcoming Events
Hello to all and Happy New Year!
I wanted to give everyone an early heads up on the dates for the
SPRING and FALL RETREATS to be held in Lacey WA at the Gwinwood Conference Grounds.
SPRING RETREAT - APRIL 30 - MAY 2 ( possibility of adding the 29th with enough interest)
FALL RETREAT - SEPT 10 - 12 ( possibility of adding the 9th with enough interest)
I will be posting a form here for registration within the week as well as sending out emails to prior attendees. It will be fun to see all of you again!
For those who are interested in ordering socks or fingerless mitts (with or without a partial thumb, please contact me for more information. I have a selection of items that are already made up, and a selection of yarns that you may choose from. Or you can check the link above and to the left and choose any of the yarns from Angora Valley for your socks or mitts.
I love working with Pat Fly's beautiful color blends and sumptuous yarns. She is, IMHO, the premiere dye artist in the Pacific Northwest. Feel free to pick out a color/fiber blend and let me work out the price for your own custom made socks. Once you have worn them, never let them go.... Your feet will miss them if you lose track of them. That's a really great reason to order a few pair, eh?
I will be introducing some solid colors and maybe some bi-color experiments as I am intrigued by the process of dyeing with KoolAid and other non-toxic dyes.
See you in the Spring!

The sad news is that the Covington Holiday Bazaar was poorly advertised so not too many folks were able to take advantage of the piles of warm socks, fingerless mitts and scarves that were on display. Bet there were a few people who were sorry they missed the warm woolies over the last week of frigid temperatures!
Vacation found me near Mt. Hood where I was able to have peace and quiet and work out a couple new patterns and get the new NZAK humming like a nightingale. Now I have a huge pile of socks to finish and a few orders yet to fill by Friday.
I will be having a small class on January 2nd for 3 starry-eyed would be sock knitters. In the meantime, I am continueing on my quest to complete my bag o' socks and mitts, and be on top of things in time for Christmas. You know... the sock knitter's children have been going without for too long.... Poor dears!
For those who happen upon this, if you want socks, mitts, mittens or scarves, or even a hat, get in touch with me and come see the wide variety of designs, fibers, styles and colors available.
My next addition will be my own hand dyed yarns. I just received my shipment of luscious yarns... merino/bamboo, merino/cashmere/nylon, blue faced leicester, ultrafine merino superwash, merino/ suri (alpaca). All the new yarns are also available in natural color for those who want the simple choices.
Please watch this page for updates and colors.
As always, my partnering with Angora Valley for her wonderful richly colored, hand-dyed yarns has been a real blessing. One of the most popular is her Cashmara yarn for socks. A close second is the Blue Faced Leicester wool, again in her uniquely blended colorways.
Here's to a Happy Holiday Season to All and to all Warm FEET!
